It's good to hear you had a wonderful birthday. Tolan is absolutely glowing. She looks amazing and seems to be caring her pregnancy well. I didn't embrace my pregnancy as much as I should have. I regret that. Enjoy every moment of it.

I am a great fan of yours and have watched your shows from the very beginning when you were just a wee lad! I am so happy that you guys moved here! I loved the show when you were that farmhouse and I thought how great it would be if you did more in the Bay Area and look what happened!!
All of Marin is beautiful, especially the small coastal towns. I have been to every town along the coast many times and I have gone abalone diving near Duncans Mill. There are just too many wonderful places and restaurants to mention. The Than Long in SF has the best roasted garlic dungeness crab ever and as you know the food i.s so phenomenal(your word). I'm expecting some interesting dishes and will be on the lookout for you!

10. I just saw the pictures from Mill Valley on your website. Looks like you're enjoying the Vespa. Do you have other dogs beside Jake? They all look like they get along quite well.

Off topic from this post, thanks for your recipe for Minestrone Soup. I made some last weekend and it was great. I now have a hugh pot simmering on the stove. I tweaked the recipe and added hot sausage as well as the sweet sausage. Since we're gearing up for a nor'easter and all the basketball tournaments are on TV why not have a crowd here to watch the games. The soup will sit on the stove and people can help themselves. I more than tripled the recipe so no one should starve along with all the other food that's here.

One suggestion, could you have someone from FN check your recipes to be sure they're correct before posting them on the website. I had recorded the show and glad I did. The recipe on FN adds steps that you didn't do. "Meanwhile, pour 1/4 cup olive oil in a large saucepan. Add the sage, rosemary and thyme and warm the oil over medium heat to infuse it with the flavor of the herbs, 3 to 4 minutes. Discard the herbs.
Chop the carrots, celery, onion and the remaining 4 cloves of garlic in a food processor. Add to the saucepan and cook for 3 to 4 minutes, until the vegetables are softened but not browned. Dump that out onto a plate. Add a drizzle of oil to the pan, then add the sausage and cook, breaking up the sausage with the side of a big spoon until well browned. Return the vegetables to the pan along with the drained tomatoes and cook for 5 minutes. Now add the beans, parsley, bay leaf, broth and lots of coarsely ground black pepper. Bring to a simmer and cook for 15 minutes. Stir in the cooked rigatoni. Discard the bay leaf". You didn't cook the veggies first, remove, cook the sausage and then put back the veggies. You added the parsley last. Little details like that can make some people hesitant of trying the recipe because they feel there are to many steps. It just annoys me that FN doesn't post recipes correctly.
