California Fire Relief
Thanks to everyone who came out to see me today in Portland! I had a blast and it was great to see you all!
I'm in the airport right now on my way to Orange County and I can't help but think about all of the Californians who have been so affected by the fires in Malibu, LA, Orange County and the San Diego area. I was trying to think of ways to help and after checking out some related charities, I realized that in an emergency situation like this, the best way to help is by donating cash...it's a quick and easy way to make a big difference.
Below I've listed a few links to organizations that are really making a big difference. If you have the ability to help, please do! Thanks!
• American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund: 800-HELP-NOW or 800-257-7575 for Spanish speakers, http://www.redcross.org/donate/donate.html
And for the poor animals ...
• Los Angeles Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals: 888-SPCA-LA1,

(Page 2)17. Tyler, I enjoyed watching the Iron Chef contest tonite that you did with Robert Irvine. Wish they gave you a better ingredient than sugar but anyway, in my opinion you and Robert should have won. The stuff from the other team looked gross. I was totally mystified! Oh well....I guess thats the way the cookie crumbles.

18. Enjoy reading the blog so much & seeing the updated photos on tylerflorence.com
Iron Chef was exciting and Tyler did awesome-it's hard to rock the house w/ sugar, but he did great! Hope another round will be in the near future.
Just a request; would love to see the Florence family Christmas card!! Will look for it to be posted.....Melissa

21. Tyler..
I am 54 and really good cook. However, every Thanksgiving I used canned cranberry sauce. My entire family makes fun of this. Gourmet side dishes served with canned cranberry sauce. When I saw your show on Thanksgiving and you made a joke about your mom making cranberry sauce than resembles the inside of a can, I completely laughed out loud!! THAT' ME!!! So I made your cranberry sauce and I will NEVER buy that can stuff again. (And I made your green beans).
Your Dad's meatloaf rocks also.
Thanks..

22. Maybe since Tyler is too busy maybe Anthony his sous chef should post here instead. I mean how hard is it to type up a couple of paragraphs every couple of days considering the amount of money AOL must be paying him!!!

23. Hi Amy,
thanks for your question regarding anchovies.
Take your remaining, unused anchovies and transfer them to a clean container and cover with an inch of olive oil. Seal it tightly and store in the refrigerator for up to 3 or 4 months.
At all times, use your best judgement when deciding if the product is okay to use - and as they say in the industry "if in doubt, throw it out!"
thanks

25. Thank you Anthony!
Nice to see you on Iron Chef. Nice to put a face with your name. Thank you for responding. We are finally getting a Whole Foods Market here in Roseville (just outside of Sacramento, CA) and I know they are very helpful with such questions and carry quality products. Looking foward to you and Tyler's next appearance on Iron Chef.
